Eco-Friendly Dog Waste Disposal

We get a surprising number of inquiries asking how to stop your dog from eating poop. Dog Coprophagia (yes, there’s an official term for it) is fairly common and is the result of either a medical condition or a behavioral problem.
Here are simple steps stop this gross and potentially dangerous behavior:
First, take your dog to a veterinarian to rule out medical problems and give you some advice. Ensure that you keep his/her vaccinations and worming up to date. There are serious pests that your dog can get from eating poop.
If you don’t have one, find a local veterinarian with our dogma(p).
Second, give your dog heaps of physical and mental stimulation, and be consistent, never allowing your dog to eat poop - you need to break the habit.
Third, feed your dog 2-3 small, well balanced and nutritious meals every day. See our selection of natural dog foods. Don’t feed your dog people food as it will cause problems in your quest.
Finally, try grating zucchini into fine ribbons and blanch it in boiling water. Cool & mix in with your dog’s food. The bitter taste of the zucchini discourages dogs from eating their poo. If your dog finds this unpalatable, add beef broth or yogurt to the mixture.
And when you are successful, here are some natural waste disposal alternatives:
